“My husband and I are obsessed with our new windows from The Window Source!! They were delivered in a very short time frame and only took a day to install. Great install crew, very clean, efficient, and paid attention to detail when sealing everything off.”
Window Replacement In and Around Conroe
A window that sticks halfway, drops when you let go of it, or won’t latch once it’s shut has usually worn out in parts you can’t see. Conroe is about nineteen miles northeast of our Tomball office, and The Window Source of Houston offers window replacement throughout the city.
Some of that’s only a nuisance, like a slider that drags in its track. A ground-floor window that won’t lock is a security problem, though, and a bedroom window that won’t open is one less way out of the house in a fire.

Sticking, slipping and locks that won’t catch
Sliding windows and sliding patio doors ride on small rollers in a track along the bottom. When the rollers wear down or the track bends, the panel drags and jumps, and a slider that won’t close all the way can’t latch either.
Single-hung and double-hung sashes are held up by balances hidden in the sides of the frame. Once a balance wears out, the sash creeps down or drops shut, and you end up propping it open with whatever’s handy.
Locks depend on the sash and the frame lining up. If the frame has shifted out of square, the lock on a double-hung stops meeting its catch, and a window that closes crooked lets in air and water along the gap as well.

Windows that are easy to open and lock
A lot of Conroe’s windows have been in use for a long time. By the Census Bureau’s 2020–2024 estimates, about two in five homes and apartments in the city were built before 2000, so many of their original windows have been opened, shut and locked for more than twenty-five years.
When you replace them, pick each style for the way that window gets used. A casement window opens with a crank, which is easier to reach over a kitchen sink than a sash you have to lift, and a picture window doesn’t open at all, so it has no moving parts to wear out. If break-ins are the worry, impact-rated windows use laminated glass with polymer layers that help it hold together when something hits it.
What comes out and what goes in
A replacement swaps out the entire unit, so the balances, rollers, locks and weatherstripping are all new along with the frame and glass. The Window Source of Houston orders each window custom built to the measurements of its opening, and our Leak Shield flashing system seals the opening before the new unit goes in.
We also replace exterior doors, including sliding patio doors that have started to drag or won’t lock. We don’t do window repair, glass cutting, or commercial and storefront jobs.
From Conroe, our work runs south through neighborhoods in The Woodlands and on down into Spring, with Tomball, where we’re based, off to the southwest. Every one of those installations carries the same lifetime Leak Shield Guarantee as a job in Conroe.

What Houston homeowners say
“I got several quotes, and Jairo was the only one who brought samples and took the time to give us a demonstration. The office stayed in communication with me every step of the way… Edwin’s installation team worked quickly and professionally.”
“Replacing my parents’ original builder-grade windows in their 25+ year old home was one of the best investments they’ve made… They’ve already noticed lower electric bills, less outside noise, and a cooler, more comfortable home that’s much easier to keep at a consistent temperature.”
